Townline BBQ sells sandwiches from $8 and meat by weight from $9.75 a quarter pound; Candy Kitchen's two-egg breakfast is $10.95 and its pancakes $12.95. Both are open every day, and neither lists a reservation system.

A $ sign is only given when a menu is posted. Several sandwich-and-counter places, such as Hampton Chutney Co., post no menu prices in the pages we read, so they carry no sign.
