A deck over Shinnecock Bay in Hampton Bays, with an Italian-leaning menu, Sunday brunch and a live waitlist.
Edgewater sits just east of the Shinnecock Canal, and its deck over Shinnecock Bay is the reason people come. The menu runs on Italian-American lines (garlic and parmesan focaccia, fried calamari, mussels in pomodoro, meatballs with burrata, char-broiled oysters) with a seared yellowfin tuna on the side.
Dinner runs Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 4 pm to 9 pm and Friday and Saturday until 9:30 pm. Sunday adds a brunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. It is closed on Mondays.
Walk-ins are welcome, and the site runs a live waitlist after 4 pm so you can see how long the line is from home. Reservations of eight or fewer are made online with a credit card hold, and a $10 per person charge applies if you cancel less than two hours ahead.
